❄️Winter Energy❄️
Hello Dear Reader,
We are officially in winter (as of December 21st), the one season where nature visibly slows everything down. Trees stop producing. Plants direct their energy back into their roots. Animals rest more. Nothing is trying to create, grow, or expand right now.
And yet, we live in a world that tells us the new year is the time to reinvent ourselves. We’re actively encouraged to take on new habits and fill our calendars with self improvement activities. Our modern culture leaves very little room for true rest, restoration, or replenishment.
So if you’re entering this winter season feeling tired, exhausted, or like you’re running on fumes, please remember this: there is nothing wrong with you. Your body is simply doing what nature does this time of year. It’s asking for rest.
Winter is a pause. A liminal space.
In between all the “doing” of the more active seasons, winter offers us a season of “being.”
It invites us to pull our energy inward, to reflect on the seasons that have passed, and to restore ourselves for what’s ahead.
If you want to lean into the energy of winter without doing anything drastic, here are a few simple ways to support yourself during this season:
• Take short walks outside, even when it’s cold. Winter air is grounding and refreshing.
• Let yourself go to bed earlier without guilt.
• Journal or free write without trying to solve anything.
• Enjoy warm drinks slowly instead of multitasking through them.
• Build quiet time into your mornings and evenings.
• Say no to what feels unnecessary or draining right now.
These are small shifts, but they gently signal to your body and nervous system that rest is safe. And when your body feels safe enough to rest, deep restoration becomes possible.
❄️Winter Retreat❄️
If you’re feeling this pull to slow down and restore, you don’t have to do it alone.
I’m hosting an in person women's winter retreat, New Year, Soft Start, and I currently have two spots left. This day is an invitation to step away from the noise of everyday life and be supported in community as you rest, move gently, nourish your body, and reconnect with yourself.
It’s for anyone who knows they need a pause, but struggles to give themselves permission to take one.
