Dear Reader,
Hi friend. How is your summer going so far? Mine seems to be zooming by and the energy of this summer has felt heavier and more stagnant than I am used to. I know that a big part of that is because of losing my cat, Frank, but I think beneath all of that grief, this season has been teaching me something I didn't expect.
A couple of months ago I shared that I was entering a new season. A season of stepping away from the constant self-help cycle and always trying to become a better version of me. After five-plus years of healing, I felt ready to integrate. Ready to practice what I had learned. Ready to simply live.
More recently I discovered the Sanskrit concept of Rasa. Rasa is the sweetness of life, the juiciness of life, the essence, the elixir... basically the very best part. It's also the practice of savoring. Of noticing. Of fully tasting and appreciating life as it unfolds.
But my personal life recently had me wondering, what if Rasa isn't just about savoring the best parts of life, but all of life? What if it means making space for the grand moments and the ordinary ones? The joy and the sorrow. The triumph and the failure. The sunshine and the rain. Because without one, would we recognize the beauty of the other?
This summer has taught me exactly that. That life can be beautiful and painful at the same time. In one breath I've held space for grief, and in the next I've gone on vacations, laughed with loved ones, and soaked up the summer sun. They both belong. And maybe that's what life has been trying to teach me all along.
So wherever this email finds you today, I hope you make space for the fullness of your own life. I hope you savor the joyful moments without rushing past them, and I hope you don't push away the difficult ones either. Both are part of the human experience. Both deserve to be felt.๐งก
Practice With Me
Alright friends, summer has a way of filling our calendars and before we know it, we're moving from one thing to the next without fully experiencing any of it. I created this 30 minute gentle practice as an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and savor the moment.
Inspired by Rasa - the sweetness, essence, and fullness of life - we'll explore what it means to truly savor the present moment instead of rushing through it.
Together we'll warm-up the spine with the six directional movements while also creating spaciousness through the hips and heart. Rather than moving quickly from pose to pose, we'll linger for 3โ5 breaths, allowing each stretch, each inhale, and each exhale to be fully experienced.

Ritual With Me
I have been working on something very near and dear to my heart for the last few months. As much as I love a good YouTube practice or live practice on Zoom, I am so tired of staring at screens. Which is quite a conundrum for someone who is currently trying to build an online presence and offerings.
A couple of months ago, it came to me. I wanted to create something that could meet you in real life, not on your screen. Something that doesn't require you staring at your screen or skipping ads. Something that allows you to be present in the real world and help you navigate that presence.
That is why I created the Soft Rebel Mixtapes - Audio Rituals to help guide you through your day with poise, presence and purpose! These mixtapes are housed in a private podcast app that you can listen to on your favorite streaming service! You can simply download the tape, press play, and go about your day without staring at your screen.
My first mixtape is officially available for purchase and I am sharing my Velvet Dawn track with you today, for free! Velvet Dawn is the first track on the tape and is designed to be listened to before you get out of bed! Don't forget to check out the liner notes that go along with the track.
๐งListen to Velvet Dawn right now for free!
๐ผ Buy Dawn to After Dark - originally $27, now $11 for the first ten buyers! (includes all 7 guided audio rituals to get you from morning to night, plus corresponding liner notes!)
May you slow down just enough this week to notice the sweetness that's been there all along.
Stay Soft,
Misty
