🌗The Morning Bloom: Honoring The Season You're In

❄️Honoring The Season You're In❄️

Good morning Reader,

I’ve been thinking a lot about discernment and life seasons lately. When I watch the news or scroll on social media, it feels like most of us are living in a constant state of “summer energy.” Always setting goals. Always striving to bloom, transform, and evolve. We’re encouraged to stay in our active, masculine energy, often forgetting to acknowledge or honor the other seasons we move through.

For a long time, I lived almost entirely in summer energy. Always pushing. Always setting goals. Always trying to be better or fix myself. I didn’t know any other way. Rest felt lazy. Slowing down felt unsafe. So I powered through, even when my body and nervous system were clearly asking for something else.

That way of living eventually caught up with me. It showed up as unhealthy coping mechanisms, mental and emotional exhaustion, and a deep disconnect from myself. I didn’t like who I was becoming, and honestly, I didn’t appreciate the beauty or complexity of being a woman at all. I was constantly working against my body instead of with it.

As I dove deeper into yogic practices and philosophies, I began paying attention to cycles and seasons of life, and that’s when things started to shift. Winter, especially, taught me something I desperately needed to learn. It mirrors the new moon, menstruation, and the crone archetype. It's a time of discernment, inward listening, and truth telling. A season where clarity comes, not from effort but from softness.

I’ve been blessed to learn that honoring the season I’m in, whether it’s a phase of my cycle, a time of year, or a chapter of life, is an act of self respect. When I ignore it and try to push through, everything feels harder than it needs to be. But when I recognize the season and move accordingly, there’s a sense of rightness that settles in.

I’ve also learned that rest doesn’t mean stagnation. Even in winter, even in seasons of inward focus, energy is being cultivated. It’s just softer. Resting beneath the surface. Gathering and preparing for what comes next. Often, the most sustainable energy comes from deep rest.

New Year Energy & Brahmacharya Hello Dear Reader, Happy 2026!🎆 As we begin a new year, I want to offer a different perspective, a yogic perspective that completely changed how I relate to New Year's resolutions. For a long time, I treated this month as a time to overhaul my life. New habits, big goals, fresh starts. Yet year after year, that approach left me feeling exhausted, stressed and like I had somehow failed before the year really began. What I understand now is this: the issue was...

Hi Reader, Happy New Year to you! 🩶 If you’re feeling a little off today, you’re not alone. The holidays tend to leave us with too much sugar, maybe more alcohol than usual, lots of socializing, late nights and sleep schedules that are all over the place. By the time January rolls around, it can feel tempting to overhaul everything. New habits, new routines, new rules. But here’s the truth:We’re still in the thick of winter. Nature isn’t rushing. It’s resting, conserving energy and slowly...

❄️Winter Energy❄️ Hello Dear Reader, We are officially in winter (as of December 21st), the one season where nature visibly slows everything down. Trees stop producing. Plants direct their energy back into their roots. Animals rest more. Nothing is trying to create, grow, or expand right now. And yet, we live in a world that tells us the new year is the time to reinvent ourselves. We’re actively encouraged to take on new habits and fill our calendars with self improvement activities. Our...
