🌸The Morning Bloom

The Power of Living Seasonally (Especially for Women)

As women, our energy is cyclical, just like the seasons. But we’ve been conditioned to show up the same way, with the same energy, Every. Single. Day. This disconnect from our cyclical nature is often what leads to imbalance, chronic fatigue and burnout. Seasonal living invites us back into relationship with nature’s rhythm and with ourselves. 🌿

Spring is the season of awakening. It’s a time of gentle movement, fresh starts and planting intentions. But spring can also feel restless or ungrounded if we move too fast. This is where practices like yoga, breathwork and grounding rituals help. They anchor and ground our rising energy so we don’t spin out of control.

Next month we will officially transition into summer, a season that is bold, bright and expansive. This is the season to fully express ourselves, take risks and lean into our personal power. But if we’re not careful, that outward energy can lead us to overextend ourselves and disconnect from our personal needs. In this season yoga can help us embody our strength without force. It reminds us to shine, yes, but also to soften and rest.

This is what we’ll explore at Glow & Grow, my upcoming yoga retreat for women on June 21st. Through a warming yoga practice, a restorative Yoga Nidra practice and nourishing food and reflection shared in community, we will align with summer’s energy in a way that feels expansive and sustainable. You don’t have to power through this season. You are allowed to move through it with ease and grace.

Try This: Ground & Grow Breathwork + Journal Ritual

When you’re feeling scattered, rushed or like your energy is pulling in too many directions, this practice can help you drop back into your body and reconnect with what’s ready to grow.

Grounding Breathwork (3–5 minutes):

  1. Find a comfortable seat with your feet flat on the floor or sit cross-legged on the ground.
  2. Close your eyes and rest your hands gently on your thighs or heart and belly.
  3. Begin to breathe in and out through your nose, slowly and steadily.
  4. On your inhale, feel your spine lengthen and imagine drawing energy up from the earth.
  5. On your exhale, feel your body soften and release tension downward into the ground.
  6. Repeat this breath, slowly and intentionally, for 10–30 rounds. (Inhale: I rise. Exhale:I soften)

When you're done, pause. Notice how you feel. Then journal with this prompt:

“What area of my life feels most aligned and joyful right now and how can I continue to support growth in that area?

New Year Energy & Brahmacharya Hello Dear Reader, Happy 2026!🎆 As we begin a new year, I want to offer a different perspective, a yogic perspective that completely changed how I relate to New Year's resolutions. For a long time, I treated this month as a time to overhaul my life. New habits, big goals, fresh starts. Yet year after year, that approach left me feeling exhausted, stressed and like I had somehow failed before the year really began. What I understand now is this: the issue was...

Hi Reader, Happy New Year to you! 🩶 If you’re feeling a little off today, you’re not alone. The holidays tend to leave us with too much sugar, maybe more alcohol than usual, lots of socializing, late nights and sleep schedules that are all over the place. By the time January rolls around, it can feel tempting to overhaul everything. New habits, new routines, new rules. But here’s the truth:We’re still in the thick of winter. Nature isn’t rushing. It’s resting, conserving energy and slowly...

❄️Winter Energy❄️ Hello Dear Reader, We are officially in winter (as of December 21st), the one season where nature visibly slows everything down. Trees stop producing. Plants direct their energy back into their roots. Animals rest more. Nothing is trying to create, grow, or expand right now. And yet, we live in a world that tells us the new year is the time to reinvent ourselves. We’re actively encouraged to take on new habits and fill our calendars with self improvement activities. Our...
